  • Jackeline Ortiz de Zevallos - Allegretta, originally born in Lima, Peru, embarked on a journey that has woven together a rich tapestry of accomplishments and dreams. My architectural pursuits began at Ricardo Palma University, shaping the foundation of my creative endeavors. In 2021, I took a significant leap across continents to the United States, where fate led me to meet my life partner, Nicola Allegretta. Together, we brought to life our shared vision with the opening of Mama's Meatball in 2006, marking the beginning of our culinary venture.

The evolution of my career unfolded organically as I delved into catering, predominantly specializing in weddings. This not only solidified my role as a caterer but also unveiled my latent talents as an event planner and designer. In 2014, I manifested a cherished dream by establishing my first Peruvian restaurant, Mistura. Here, I pay homage to my roots, presenting traditional Peruvian recipes passed down through generations within my family, now shared with the world in a refined culinary experience. Mistura is not just a restaurant; it's an immersive journey through Peru, carefully curated in its design to transport patrons to the heart of my homeland. A crowning achievement was realizing the dream of being the sole Pisco distillery in the United States, a testament to my dedication to preserving and promoting Peruvian culture.

Fueled by artistic and creative impulses, I've achieved milestones that extend beyond the culinary realm. One such accomplishment was being chosen as the appointed caterer by the Peruvian nation. This prestigious role tasked me with representing and promoting Peruvian gastronomy at the renowned Food & Wine in Aspen, Colorado. Catering exclusive shows for 3000 guests and curating private events for Food Network, I stood as a proud ambassador of Peru. While numerous projects continue to unfold, I can confidently assert that I've transcended the role of an architect; I am now the architect of my dream life, crafting a narrative that intertwines passion, culture, and culinary excellence.
